A great opportunity to serve among Armenian People in the Netherlands
The Armenian Family Camp 2010 of the Netherlands will take place July 2-4 for the 6th consecutive year.
Since 2001, an outreach ministry started in the Netherlands among Armenian refugees from Armenia, Lebanon, Syria, Iran and Iraq. Today thousands Armenians live in the Netherlands and hundreds have heard the Good News. A community of believers grew as we met on Saturday on a monthly basis for worship service. Now, we pray for weekly services as well as for an Armenian Spiritual-Cultural School to be built where Armenian children throughout the Netherlands can attend to learn about the Gospel and their culture.
In addition to the monthly services, we host a yearly Christian family camp that gathers Armenian Christians and seekers. Several people accept Christ as Lord and Savior during the camp and join the church community.
YOU can also take part in this blessed mission by:
1) Serving - You can visit us for a short-term mission's trip to serve our people during the camp. Some of the ways you can serve is by sharing your testimony during services, praying with small groups and individuals, answering people's questions, serving in the kitchen, leading the worship time, or playing with children. This experience allows you to connect with Armenians in the Netherlands and invest in their lives for the Kingdom. It will also give you the opportunity to show Christ's love which will be the greatest experience you can have.
The camp cost is 90 dollars for 3 days (this includes food and accommodation). You would fly into Amsterdam and be picked up by one of our host families. You also have an option to come a few days in advance and stay with a host family and tour Amsterdam.
2) Praying - You can fast and pray before and during July 2-4. We strongly believe that: "when we pray, God works". Your prayers would be precious for this ministry and encourage us to continue in this spiritual battle.
3) Giving - You can help financially by paying the way for one person or a family to participate in the camp and to hear the message of Salvation. Unfortunately, dozens of people miss the camp every year due to a lack of resources.
If you feel that God is calling you to join us by serving, praying and/or giving, please send us an email:
Below, we have included the testimonies of a few people who have served in the camp in the past few years.
Thank you for your prayerful consideration,

Testimonies
While the notion of 'grass
roots movement' seems to have reached a new level of popularity in recent
American politics, it is unclear the extent to which the Church has caught
on to bottom-up organization (this is surprising given Christ's example of
service and passages like Matthew 19:30!). If you are interested in an
experiment in Christlike service, go to the Netherlands and fill in a much
needed but behind-the-scenes part of a precious summer ministry that
continues year after year to bless those it touches and that operates
without any official infrastructure in place. In addition to participating
in what I would imagine to be a powerful image of Americans serving
immigrants abroad (a reversal of all the immigrants who continuously serve
us often in hidden or 'underground' ways here), your faith will be refreshed
by witnessing those who come to the camp make decisions for transformed
lives in Christ (Ephesians 2:19-22) –Heather, NY, NY
I have
thought about my time at the camp every day for two years now. The thirst
for the gospel among the people there is absolutely unique, and it is hard
not to be humbled and encouraged by the joy and vitality of the people I was
serving. I went speaking neither Dutch nor Armenian, and I feel as though
the work I did was rather simple. Yet I've been blessed by the realization
that the seemingly simple work I did made a real impact on many people's
lives. (And, to be perfectly honest, it was also just a lot of fun!)
–Rick, Boston, MA
At the Netherlands camp, I met Armenians who had
an incredible passion for Christ and were filled with His joy despite their
immensely difficult life circumstances. I also met a few seekers who sought
after the truth relentlessly and subsequently came to Christ. It is evident
that God is working in this group and witnessing this made a great spiritual
impact upon my life. I was given a privileged glimpse of what can take place
when we pray "Thy Kingdom come". –Knarig, NY, NY
I had a
blessed time at the Netherlands camp and I am forever thankful for the
opportunity that God provided to minister to the Armenian people. Since I
have been a believer, I have done my best to tell people about the Lord.
However, this was my first experience of leading people to the sinners
prayer and I was blessed through it. It was so humbling to see people of all
ages thirsting for the Lord. –Maria, Los Angeles, CA
This trip
was a spiritual awakening and a cultural experience. I love the Armenian
people! I met so many individuals who shared their testimonies with me and I
was astounded. Women who continued to follow the Lord even though their
husbands forbid them to, lives of crime turned around, thriving ministries
with people in refugee camps . . . I urge you to take up the opportunity to
support and/or learn about this ministry. –Karen, Austin, TX
I had the privilege of attending the Family Christian Camp of the Netherlands from July 3-5, 2009 and had a truly blessed experience! I’ve been to many camps over the years, but this camp was different. I was greeted by the warmest families and was very encouraged in my conversations with them. The highlight of my weekend was that six people became believers as a result of the gospel message they heard. This is a true mark that the Holy Spirit was working in the hearts of many people who attended. I am grateful for the time I spent with these Armenians as they are thirsting for more of God’s Word in their lives. They are examples to me as well as many others who attended the camp. May God bless them as they continue to grow in His perfect love and grace. – Ano, Toronto, ON
